UPDATE August 2013:
New Edition – NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-2012 “Household and Similar Electrical Appliances – Safety – Part 1: General Requirements.” (Cancel NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-2005)
Mexico, D.F., August 23, 2013 – UL de México, S. A. de C. V. informs you that on April 22, 2013 was published in the Official Gazette, the Declaration of use of Mexican standard NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-2012 “Household and Similar Electrical Appliances – Safety – Part 1: General Requirements”, which will be an effective date on the following terms:

Please consider the following as we move forward with this standard update:
- UL will receive requests of product certification related to NOM-003-SCFI-2000 “Electric Products – Safety Specifications”, Section 2 – Household and Similar Electrical Appliances (NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-2005) standard until October 10, 2013.
- Test Reports issued towards NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-2005 standard, whether they are related to new certification services or surveillance process (verification), could be submitted and will be received until October 10, 2013.
- All corrective actions, clarifications or answers to notifications issued by UL de Mexico, S. A. de C. V. and related to test reports issued to NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-2005 (for projects in analysis stage) may be submitted and will be received at UL until October 10, 2013.
- In case you have already received a Compliance Letter issued to confirm compliance with the NMX-J-521/1-ANCE-2005 standard, such letter could be used to re-certify your products under the same standard, as long as the corresponding request is submitted to UL before October 17, 2013.
