The Mexican official standard NOM-030-ENER-2012 establishes the specifications for the integral LED lamps for general lighting, as well as the test methods applicable to verify them. Likewise, it establishes the type of information of essential technical characteristics according to the intended used, that shall carry the products object of this Mexican Official Standard which are marketed at the Mexican United States territory, and similarly, take care of the need for those products to encourage the efficient use and saving of energy.

Scope

This Mexican Official Standard applies to all the omnidirectional and directional integral LED lamps, which are aimed for general lighting, in supply voltage of 100 V up to 277 V c.a. and 50 Hz or 60 Hz, which are manufactured or imported to be marketed within the Mexican United States territory

Exceptions: This Mexican Official Standard does not apply to the products established in energy efficiency Mexican Official Standard, as well as the LED luminaires and the LED modules, and to the LED lamps with supply voltage less or equal than 24 V.

Compliance with the standard

Must comply with this regulation, companies based in Mexico that manufacture, import, sell and/or distribute the product type in the scope of the standard.

Compliance is demonstrated through testing processes and certification and only companies based in Mexico can obtain a certificate of compliance with the standard.

Family Grouping

Integrated LED lamps are classified and grouped by family, according to the following criteria:

  • Same Brand
  • Manufactured at the same
  • For omnidirectional integrated LED lamps – same type (A, BT, P, PS, T, BA, C, CA, F and G form)
  • For directional integrated LED lamps – same type (AR111, BR, ER, MR, PAR and R)
  • Undefined form
  • For omnidirectional integrated LED lamps with A, BT, P, PS and T forms, shall be on the intervals of total luminous flow, established in Table 9.
  • For omnidirectional integrated LED lamps with BA, C, CA, F and G forms shall be on the intervals of total luminous flow, established in Table 10.
  • For directional integrated LED lamps with AR111, BR, ER, MR, PAR and R forms shall have the lamp diameter, established in Table 11.
  • Integrated LED lamps that do not define the bulb form, shall be on the intervals of total luminous flow, established in Table 9.
